Education is a man making process. By drawing forth the quintessential qualities in man and also by helping him drive out the decapacitating elements in his or her character education empowers and enriches man. The greatest boon of education is the realization it gives man about the meaning and profundity of life and also the need to co-exist with the fellow beings in an effective manner. The Catholic Church began her educational endeavors widely in Kerala in the second half of the 19th century with the clarion call of St.Kuriakose Elias Chavara to start schools in every parish. St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, the founder of the CMI congregation, was a pioneer in the field of universalization of education as a means of bringing liberation and change in the society. He was also a man who always advocated for quality education and the policy of inclusiveness and free accessibility in education. Drawing inspiration from its founder, St.Kuriakose Elias Chavara, St. Joseph’s Academy of Higher Education and Research, Moolamattom, an initiative of St. Joseph’s Province, Kottayam, endeavors to provide an ideal sort of education to the students designed to inculcate in them qualities like national cohesion, scientific temper and independence of mind and spirit. Our aim is to make our students “Fly in Excellence” as the college motto states, with all their potentials and skills fully developed.
